LIMOUX CARNIVAL
It is the longest
in the world. It last three months, (january, february, march).
Severel groups
parade through the streets on saturday and sunday, (11a.m, 5 and 10p.m) for
each tour the masked participants known as « The goudies » preceded
by musiciens called « The Fecos » and dancers dressed up as Pierrot
dance from one cafe to another under the mediaevel arcades of the republic
square of Limoux. Armed raised, brandishing the « Carabela » and
throwing confetti to the crowd. It concludes on the « Night of the
Blanquette » which is the last day of the festival when this sparkling
Limoux wine flows incessantly.
